pack your bag with essentials
While walkers will prefer backpacks, cyclists and horse riders will opt for panniers to attach to their mounts.
Even if you don’t want to weigh yourself down, here are our recommendations for ensuring you don’t forget anything essential for a good hike:
- Take care of your health: don’t leave without your sun cream, because even clouds don’t protect you from UV rays. Prepare a small first-aid kit (bandages, disinfectant, arnica, tick remover, etc.) in case the unexpected happens.
- Getting your bearings: Bring a map or hiking map of your itinerary, as well as a compass for expert orienteers.
- Replenish your energy : dried fruit and energy bars… and, above all, a full water bottle!
Responsible hiking
To minimize the traces of your passage through natural areas, there are several simple gestures you can make:
– All my garbage… hop in a garbage can bag! Don’t forget to take a bag with you to take your packaging to the next garbage can.
– Keep to well-maintained footpaths, as taking side paths can disturb the regrowth of vegetation.
– A bonus tip that may seem surprising… Clean your soles after your hike! By carrying seeds or bacteria from other environments in our shoes, we can unknowingly harm biodiversity.
