The Route d’Occitanie – La Dépêche du Midi is a cycling event reserved for professional groups and registered on the UCI Europe Tour calendar. Created in 1977, it attracts the best teams in the world every year, just a few weeks before the Tour de France.

The event attracts professional teams and many well-known riders, often in preparation for the Tour de France. The generally demanding course includes several mountain stages in the Pyrenees, making it ideal terrain for climbers.
