30 – CIRQUE DE LA GLERE PAR LE CHEMIN DE L’IMPERATRICE

Steps

Step 1

The trail starts in front of the Hospice de France building (sign)

Step 2

Cross a stream and then, further up, cross a small bridge called the Pont du Penjat (1,439 m). A sign indicates that you should take the path on your right. You will quickly enter the beech forest.

Step 3

Further on, you will cross a passage equipped with a cable. Continue along the almost flat path. Two-thirds of the way along, you will cross the Baliran stream, which can be difficult to cross at the beginning of the season and is sometimes impassable.

Step 4

You will emerge from the forest (1,570 m) to admire the cirque and its waterfalls. Can you find the cabin?

Step 5

The return journey is via the same route.
