Lac d'Oô is a natural glacial lake in the Pyrenees at an altitude of 1505m. It was raised by 10m by a dam in 1921 and now covers 42ha with a depth of 67m and a capacity of 15 million m3.
Tapped by a gallery, it supplies the Oô hydroelectric power station in Luchon. Its name is particularly well known to cruciverbists.
A popular destination for Pyrenean hikers, one of the attractions is its 275m-high waterfall. The trail continues beyond the lake to the Espingo and Saussat lakes, and then higher up to the Portillon lake.
