MUSEE DE L’AERONAUTIQUE LEON ELISSALDE
- Museum
BAGNERES-DE-LUCHON
Starting at 3€

About
The equipment displayed was taken from plane wrecks which crashed in the Central Pyrenees Mountains during WWII. Part of the museum is reserved for aeronautics after the war such as with a Rolls-Royce power plant, a series of Turbo-engines for helicopters.
The Léon Elissalde Aeronautical museum is a must-see to schedule into your trip. Retracing a large part of the history of aeronautics from 1934 to the advent of the Concorde, it is also and especially an homage to all of the crews who lost their lives in the liberation of our country. Two former mechanics from the Armée de l’Air will enjoy the pleasure of guiding you through the museum, showing the secrets of aeronautical mechanics and the history of flight crews who often had “the right stuff”.
