Steps

Step 1

At the bridge over the River Lens, with the Bessous farm at your back, cross over and take the gravel path on your right at the junction to the hamlet of Haraypey.

Step 2

Continue along the chemin d'Haraypey until you come to a triangular intersection with two intertwined oak trees (anastomosis). Cross the road and continue along the forest track opposite.

Step 3

After a steep climb through the communal woods, you come to a plantation planted by pupils of the Cassagne RPI and the Chemin de Saouis, which you take to the right. When you reach the hamlet of Gebrau, turn left towards "La Rouaoude", where you'll find a wash-house recently renovated by the locals and, a little further up, an oratory dating from 1848 that was also refurbished in 2025. Continue left towards "Le Besson" and a little further on, turn left again onto the Cap del Marot path.

Step 4

Continue for 600m and then, at a large crossroads, take the track on the right and follow it for 1.7km, then turn left to reach the outskirts of the village of Belbèze-en-Comminges at 550m.

Step 5

After the cross, take the track between two low stone walls. Cross the bridge over the stream and continue until you come to a "y" junction. Turn left and continue for 1.6km. There are fine views of the Pyrenees and the remains of a mill on the Lestourelle plateau.

Step 6

ou are now not far from the end of the Cap del Marot path on stage 4. Don't retrace your steps, but take the right-hand road downhill for 1.6km to the motte féodale du Riou. The end of the loop is 150m further on, where you will find the listed La Caraou bridge (1772) and the finish of this route.
