81 – LE TOUR DES FRONTIGNES

Steps

Step 1

Leave your vehicle in the car park on your right as you cross the village towards the lake. The hike starts at the information board – take the small cul-de-sac slightly uphill.

Step 2

At the first intersection, take the path on the right (yellow signpost – 81) – then turn left at the next intersection. Follow the obvious path.

Step 7

Take the small road downhill on the left (rue de la Carrère). At the bottom of the descent, continue on the left. The hike continues along the path in front of you. Follow this path until you reach the paved road.

Step 3

At the wash house, you will come to a small paved road and the first houses of Antichan de Frontignes.

Step 4

You will reach the departmental road leading to the Col des Ares, which you cross and continue straight ahead. To cross the village, follow the yellow markings. Pass a small fountain on a square and then turn left.

Step 8

Cross the square, pass the bus shelter and take the road downhill on the left. Cross the village of Frontignan de Comminges.

Step 5

A few metres further on, after the gate of the small Antichan castle, turn left and then left again to rejoin the road leading to the Col des Ares.

Step 9

A little further on, follow the road signposted for Ore. Continue along this road until you reach the bottom of the descent. You will soon arrive at the village of Ore.

Step 10

At the next intersection, take the small road closed to traffic in front of you. After 100 metres, turn left and continue straight ahead.

Step 6

Follow this road, turning right, and after 100 metres you will arrive at the orientation table. After a few minutes' rest, retrace your steps to the church square.

Step 11

Just outside the village, take the track going up to the right (access to the Ore climbing cliff).

Step 12

100m further on, take the wide path on the right. Follow this path straight ahead until you reach a clearing. Continue your hike at the top right corner of this clearing. Then follow the main path, which will quickly lead you to the village of Lourde.

Step 13

At the top of the small hill in the village, turn left. Then, shortly after the town hall, turn right towards St Pé d'Ardet.

Step 14

Walk through the village of St Pé and arrive at the small square where you will turn left to rejoin your vehicle some 200 metres further on.
