Steps
- Step 1
- From the barns at Astau, walk past the restaurants and take the track climbing up in front of you, marked with the colours of the GR10 (white and red) and no. 41. Cross the ford and then the barrier. The path is not difficult and the route is obvious.
- Step 2
- As you pass, admire the Madeleine waterfall on your right and then the sulphurous rock (1,300 m). Higher up, at an intersection, continue along the path, which becomes stony, on your left. Admire the view towards the Astau valley.
- Step 3
- A few minutes later, after a short descent, you will see the small stone bridge (1,489 m), as well as the dam and the refuge on your right.
- Step 4
- Climb up to the latter and enjoy the view of the famous 275m-high waterfall of Lake Oô.
- Step 5
- Return via the same route.
