A String Section is a string section. But this is not a musical ensemble like any other, rather a surprisingly gritty performance with a touch of British humour.

Five elegant women in black dresses and high heels face you, seated, silent. With saws as bows and chairs as their only instruments, this women's quintet perform a strange ritual. Their aim is clear: to saw off the legs of the chairs on which they are sitting, leaving their seats increasingly precarious. The result is a strident symphony. Their struggle for balance fascinates and bewilders us. Will it last much longer?

Free for all ages 10 and up. Duration: 40 minutes.
