This exhibition is based on a simple phrase found by Alan (a young DITEP* student) during a workshop: "Me in my cave". A phrase like a refrain, like a shelter.
A place we make for ourselves, imagine, or retreat to. For several months, we worked with young people from the DITEP L'Essor in Saint-Ignan on the figure of the beast. A presence that is difficult to grasp, by turns disquieting, protective and intimate. A form that appears as much as it disappears. Little by little, the beast shifted. It was no longer just a figure to be represented, but something that inhabited a space, a body, a voice.
Moi dans ma grotte extends this research by shifting the question: not just what is the beast? But where does it appear?
The exhibition is constructed as an interior space. A place of both refuge and retreat, where different presences coexist.
The residency is supported by the DRAC and ARS Occitanie, as part of the Culture, Disability and Dependency programme.
