SAINT-GAUDENS

About
This year, the museum is presenting its collections in greater depth!
What do all these objects have in common? They all look confusing! Yet from the end of the eighteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth, their functions were perfectly clear. With this exhibition, we want to bring them to your attention as a statement of the singularity of many museum collections.
Although they are captioned, we have included riddles that invite you to ask "what could this one have been used for? and "how did it work? Most of the items on display have been donated by residents of Comminges and the surrounding area over the last fifty years. They bear witness to the habits and customs of the area, and reflect the 3,300 items that make up the eclectic collections of the Musée de Saint-Gaudens. The aim of this year's exhibition is to showcase our (extra)ordinary collections through a redesigned, colourful and lively itinerary.
Various themes have been devised to best present these (extra)ordinary witnesses to a daily life that belongs to the past.
