About
Elimberri is the collaboration between two singer-songwriters: Pantxix Bidart, from the Basque Country, and Primaël Montgauzi, from Gascony.
Having come together at the Rencontres d’Astaffort in 2022, Pantxix Bidart and Primaël Montgauzi blend their languages, cultures and musical worlds in a poetic and socially conscious creation.
The name ‘Elimberri’, the ancient Basque name for Auch, recalls the shared roots of Basque and Gascon cultures. It also means ‘new village’, evoking a society open to diversity and respectful of cultures and nature.
Conceived as a musical evening, the show alternates between emotion, joy and poetry. Original songs, poems and collected folk songs intertwine to create a dialogue between ancestral heritage and the contemporary world. Elimberri gives voice to the elders, poets and sages to shed light on our present.
